Today, we were honoured to welcome Bishop Stephen to St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School, Bishop Auckland. His visit was a wonderful opportunity for our children to deepen their understanding of faith, ask thoughtful questions, and share in a meaningful moment of community reflection.

Our pupils impressed Bishop Stephen with their curiosity, confidence, and eagerness to learn. They asked a range of fantastic questions, demonstrating not only their developing knowledge but also their genuine interest in learning more about the wider Church and its mission.

Holocaust Memorial Day Assembly

Bishop Stephen also joined our parents, staff, and pupils for our Holocaust Memorial Day assembly — a reflective and important moment in our school calendar. Together, we paused to remember the millions of lives lost and to reflect on the importance of compassion, peace, and standing up against injustice.

His presence added great significance to the assembly, helping our school community deepen its understanding of why remembrance matters.

We are incredibly grateful to Bishop Stephen for taking time to visit our school, share in our learning, and support our community during this meaningful occasion.

Thank you for inspiring our children and helping make today so special.
