Hello my name is Sue Sayers. I am the Parent Support Advisor for our families at St. Wilfrid’s.

My role in school is to provide support, advice and information to the families in our school community. If you have any concerns about your child’s education/behaviour or emotional wellbeing, I am here to help.

I am also here to support parents with issues that may be impacting on family life such as health or finances. Additionally, I can assist with outside referrals when necessary. My goal is to make all children/parents and caregivers to feel comfortable to come and talk to me so that all children feel safe and happy in school.

I may not have all answers, but hopefully, I can work out how to help you find them!

Advice and support are confidential, although concerns relating to safeguarding children will always be dealt with per the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.

Support for parents includes:

  • Providing information about services in the local area and support to access them if needed
  • Completing referrals to relevant agencies e.g Young Carers
  • Completing forms/applications
  • Advice and support in promoting positive behaviour at home
  • Toileting issues
  • Picky eaters
  • Poor sleeping
  • Support to improve school attendance
  • Signposting for help with finances and debt, housing, health etc.
