This week in School it has been Winter!  The children in First Steps went to explore the Winter Wonderland that was created in the school hall, the children knew that in winter it is very cold and that we would need a warm coat and a hat!  We wrapped up warm and went to explore!  This stimulus provided lots of different activities for the children while learning in continuous provision, as well as talk for writing opportunities and some simple writing by the reception children.

The Auckland Project came to work with the reception children on Wednesday.  The children listened to the story of The Snowman by Raymond Briggs and then used the story to think of their own characters and inspire their own winter art work.

This week on Thursday it was Diwali, we looked at how Hindu’s celebrate the festival of light, which signifies good over evil.  The children made their own Diva Lamps and designed their own Mehndi art!
