Richard the storyteller
At St Wilfrid’s primary school, we had a wonderful time with an amazing author called Richard O’Neil. Each class had their own session with him where he talked about his books and how he got his inspiration for them all. He showed us that if you want to be an author and you’re from St Wilfrid’s you certainly can because he also received an education in the old St Wilfrid’s building. Also, he showed us you don’t have to be rich, you only have to follow your dreams to become what you desire. Richard came from a traveller family and was sadly teased while growing up but, he has still achieved an outstanding career. He was amazing, had a brilliant sense of humour and not only inspired us but made sure we all had a good time.
