For 2 days Debra (a first aid worker from Mini First Aid Durham) provided every class with education of how to help yourself and others in dangerous situations. These included: being unconscious, choking, burning yourself, bumping your head, bleeding or even breaking a bone. Each class got a session where we got taught about how to react in these threatening circumstances. Every child got a mini first aid booklet which we filled in all together with Debra. Each and every page was packed with information giving us step by step instructions on how to stay safe when someone is in one of these conditions. Debra taught us the Recovery position if someone is unconscious, how to do CPR, how to use a defibrillator, what to do if someone is choking, how to treat burns with clingfilm, what to do if someone is bleeding, how to spot the symptoms of a head injury and how to react if you have broken a bone. We think we have learnt a lot of crucial things to keep ourselves safe. Overall, we had a lot of fun while learning these important safety instructions. We Thank Deborah for a wonderful time.
